William L. "Bill" Wolters

Bill Wolters is the President of the Texas Automobile Dealers Association, the state trade association for franchised new car and truck dealers.

Bill joined TADA in 1982 after a 13-year career with Ford Motor Company in Dallas and Kansas City, Missouri.  He began his association career as Director of the TADA 20-Group Program and held the position of Executive Vice President for TADA for 17 years.  As EVP and Chief Operating Officer he also headed up the Services Corporation.  Bill was named President and CEO of TADA in January 2004.

Bill is a Past Chairman of the Board of the Texas Society of Association Executives.  He is the Past Chairman of the national organization of Automotive Trade Association Executives.  He also served two terms on the Board of the American Society of Association Executives.

Bill is a native Texan, a Vietnam veteran, and a graduate of the University of North Texas.  The father of two:  daughter Amanda and son-in-law Jeremy Wood; and son Casey and daughter-in-law Karen, and granddaughter Emma and grandson Austin.

TADA Chairman of the Board for 2014, Rick Cavender, has been an outstanding leader for the association and the automotive industry for decades.  A third generation San Antonio dealer, Rick contributes his time and talent to countless community charities and civic organizations. 

Over twelve hundred franchised new car and truck dealerships like Cavender Audi in 284 Texas cities and towns are at the forefront of our state’s emergence as an economic and civic force in America. 

Dealers like Rick Cavender are essential to the fabric of Texas and instrumental in Texas social and economic success.  Through his leadership, Texas dealers will continue to lead the way in service to their customers, employees, communities and our great state.
