TOP FORD EXECUTIVES AND CELEBRITIES
MAKE SURPRISE APPEARANCE AT NEW LINCOLN MKS SNEAK PREVIEW
EVENT
Ford CEO Alan Mulally, CMO Jim Farley
and Dallas Cowboys Legend Roger Staubach Introduce New Vehicle to Nearly
800 Guests at Johnson Sewell Event in Horseshoe Bay
Marble Falls, Texas – July 11, 2008 –
On July 10, two Ford Motor Company’s top executives stunned nearly
800 guests by attending Johnson Sewell Lincoln-Mercury’s exclusive
sneak preview of the all-new 2009 Lincoln MKS at the Marriott at
Horseshoe Bay.
Ford Chief Executive Officer Alan Mulally and Chief
Marketing Officer Jim Farley, along with football legend Roger Staubach,
attended the event to celebrate the launch of the new flagship Lincoln
MKS sedan making its way into dealerships across the country. Master of
Ceremonies Staubach introduced Mulally, who spoke to the crowd about the
MKS and the importance of the event.
"The all-new Lincoln MKS is a great example of Ford
Motor Company’s drive to provide high-quality, safe,
fuel-efficient and smart vehicles that people really want," said
Mulally. "I am proud to work together with our dealers on consumer
events like the one hosted by Johnson Sewell. They allow us to
interact directly with our customers and are generating a lot of
word-of-mouth interest in our new flagship Lincoln."
After Mulally finished his remarks, Johnson Sewell
Co-owner Bob Sewell presented Mulally and Farley with western belts and
Stetson cowboy hats in appreciation for their commitment to helping
dealers show the public that Lincoln has a new product worthy of their
attention and consideration.
"Earlier this year, Ford CEO Alan Mulally challenged
Lincoln dealers to get consumers into the MKS so they could see for
themselves that this car goes toe-to-toe with all luxury brands," said
Sewell. "We responded to the challenge by holding this sneak preview
event, and Mr. Mulally’s attendance shows Ford’s belief in
this vehicle, and the company’s commitment to bring quality
products to the marketplace."
In order to bring the vehicles into the Marriott at
Horseshoe Bay, it was necessary to modify the building by widening both
internal and external doors. It was Johnson Sewell’s first such
event.
"This is the first time we have held a customer
appreciation event for our loyal customers, and it was exciting to have
such an outstanding vehicle to present," said Alice Johnson, co-owner of
Johnson Sewell. "The MKS is pure luxury, and we are proud to have it in
our lineup."
The all-new 2009 Lincoln began arriving in
dealerships across North America last month. Dynamic and
clean-lined, the flagship Lincoln MKS is the first production vehicle to
embrace the Lincoln design DNA introduced on the Lincoln MKR concept in
2007. Priced just more than $38,000 including destination,
the vehicle is loaded with class-exclusive features and options, such as
the industry-exclusive SYNC, Easy Fuel™ Capless Fuel Filler
System, SecuriCode™ Next-Generation Keypad, a premium
THX-certified audio system, 20-inch wheels, heated rear seats and the
voice-activated navigation system with SIRIUS Travel
Link. The Lincoln MKS is powered by a Lincoln-exclusive
3.7-liter V-6 engine mated with a fuel-efficient six-speed
transmission.
