Since 1916, TADA has been the voice of Texas' franchised
dealers. TADA represents the dealer body before the Texas Legislature,
Congress, and regulatory agencies. It provides members with legal
support, an annual conference, training and education programs, business
services, a variety of informative publications, public relations on
behalf of the industry, and even a consumer mediation service.
The objectives of the Texas
Automobile Dealers Association are to:
- support the principles of ethical business practices and commercial
integrity of those engaged in the retail distribution and sale of new
automobiles and trucks;
- promote the best interests of franchised new car and truck dealers,
consistent with the public good;
- promote a spirit of cooperation among franchised new automobile and
truck dealers, and encourage them to affiliate with local, state, and
national associations;
- acquire, preserve and disseminate data and information of value to
its members, the industry and the public;
- maintain good relations among customers, dealers, distributors, and
manufacturers;
- maintain and promote programs for the mediation and settlement of
consumer complaints;
- promote and support programs for the training of automotive service
technicians and the maintenance of automotive service excellence;
- promote motor vehicle and driver safety;
- support safe, convenient, and adequate street and highway
systems;
- support laws and policies that benefit association members, the
automotive industry and the public;
- oppose unfair, unreasonable or discriminatory laws and regulations;
and
- support the principles of private enterprise and a business climate
that affords a reasonable opportunity for profitability and financial
security.
